Welcome to the tenth issue of The Abolitionist! 2001 brings COK's sixth year of action on behalf of the animals. Since 1995, we've tried our best to foster a community of resistance in the Washington, D.C.-area, and, for those six years, we've proven to a be a thorn in the side of the animal exploitation industries.

We have waged our campaigns solely with the dedication and generosity of volunteers working from their homes, and we will continue to provide a voice for the voiceless until abolition is achieved. The small group of D.C.-area activists who comprise COK realize that we're up against not only multibillion-dollar industries, but also thousands of years of ingrained prejudice against members of other species. In our struggle to end human supremacy, truth is our only weapon.

We hope the pages of this newsletter, which document COK's activities in the last few months, inspire you to make the struggle for animal liberation a greater part of your life. Only through the tireless work of caring individuals will animals ever see their liberation.

In the struggle,
The COK Co-Directors
